Before and After

Amanda loves comparing before and after shots in home magazines, so we wanted to include such a page for you too.

Amanda's Craft Room:
Before:
Inadequate shelving in closet, bare walls in need of repair, outdated fixtures, rotten and worn carpeting

After:
New Pergo flooring, new baseboards, improved storage, walls repaired and painted, new door, new vent covers.
I still need to put photos up on the walls and find a desk lamp and shelf for my craft desk area.

Jim's Office:
Before: Very, very pink and floral--even the door is pink!

After:

Family Room:
Before: cobwebby shutters, pioneer themed wallpaper, faux brick of varying shades of pink

After:

Dining Room:
Before: quite pink and formal with awkward mirror placement

After:

Library:
Before: very bare and white with french doors

After:

Kitchen and Mudroom:
Before: two long and thin rooms we hope to combine into one; fruit and flower themed wallpaper

After:

Master Bedroom:
Before: white walls, drop ceiling, ugly curtains and carpet, nice fan and light

After:

Nursery:
Before:
The wood paneling had to be somewhere!--even the blinds have a wood design!
ugly drop ceiling, needs new closet, old dresser in need of refurbishing.
This room is very dark.  It seems to suck out all the light despite the fact it has a south facing window.
After:
This room has new everything!  We gutted it to the studs and even took a little square footage from the Guest Room to make a new closet.  Look how light and airy it feels now!

Guest Room (The Lilac Room):
Before:
Old carpeting, more wood paneling, orange flower motif, stained ceiling, needs new closet

After:
This room has new everything as well!  We moved the closet so that it would be back to back with the nursery closet.  This room is big enough that you don't even notice the missing square footage.

This is a king sized bed...actually, it is 2 twin extra longs.  There would have been no way to get a king upstairs.  When it comes time to make this a kid's room, we can separate the 2 beds.
This room is very peaceful and calming.  I love the color.

Bonus Room (Future Master Bath and Walk-in Closet):
Before: This room used to be a second kitchen.
fruity wallpaper, old kitchen cabinets with working sink, cat smell

After:

Upstairs Hallway:
Before: L-shaped with access to small balcony.  glittery green wallpaper in stairway, rough-textured walls in hallway, another drop ceiling

After:
